Touch Me
Interactive Animation triggered by the audience member’s pulse. Steel, monitors, mini-computer, speaker, Arduino and sensor.
Touch Me explores society's relationship with technology, envisioning a future where technology becomes intertwined with "human" senses, in this case, touch. This system is reliant on human touch to function. Through this physical connection, the machine becomes animated. Driven by the user's pulse, the system begins to 'breathe’, depicted by a hyper-realistic skin that stretches and pulsates. This experiment prompts the audience to explore how our future interactions with technology might take form, particularly regarding the physical touch. Touch is one of the many ways we communicate, serving as an intimate tool in human society. How long before technology adopts a subtle touch of the hand, a firm handshake, or a tight embrace?
